Preparing an Excel file for MindFocus
A clean table helps MindFocus identify words, meanings, pronunciation, and context more accurately.
Basic structure
Column 1 is the target word and column 2 is its meaning. Columns 3 and 4 can contain pronunciation or context. MindFocus attempts automatic detection, but consistent data always produces a better preview.
Do not mix several data types in one cell
Avoid placing pronunciation, meaning, and example text in the same cell. Give each type its own column. If pronunciation is unavailable, leave it blank and keep the context in its separate field.
Check the header row
Headers such as Word, Meaning, Pronunciation, and Context are supported and usually skipped. Always review the preview before saving so that a header is not imported as vocabulary.
Limits and temporary files
The file is read to extract data and is not retained as a personal document on the server. Keep your original file elsewhere and upload only the columns needed for learning.
